A week and a half?!?!?!

Ok, first let me just say I'm a slacker.  In more ways than one.  A little over a week ago I felt like maybe I was pushing too hard and doing too much.  I was starting to get "that feeling" throughout my body that I needed to slow down, but I stopped.  The last thing I did was run that 2.2 miles I believe.  I don't know exactly what I was thinking by stopping all together and why I didn't get right back at it after a day of rest.  Either way, the first day of boot camp has me more determined and focused than I've been in a long time.  This journey or mine is exactly that a journey, with a long winding road and this was just a little bump in the road.  The important part is that I REALIZE and admit that I was slacking, but also to know what I have to do to get back on the straight and narrow part of the road.

So last night was the first night back at bootcamp and I loved every painful second of it!  I was not a fan of the 2 minute assessments for Alumni, but I knew I had to do it and that I COULD do it, so I did.  I whined a little and pouted a little bit more, but I did it and it felt great!  I ran my mile is 11:00 flat.  Not horrible, but I know I can do better and I have a 5K to run on the 30th, so I've only got a week and a half more to get trained and ready to run and I SO BADLY want to run the whole 5K (3.1 miles).  My friend Tiffany and I are just about the same pace and last night she was only two seconds behind me for the entire mile and I didn't even know it was her until a little over half way through.  She's doing the 5K on the 30th with me and I'm hoping that we can hang right by each other and finish the race together.  I'm hoping I can find someone that is not racing to be at the finish line taking pictures.  One of my most cherished pictures is the finish line of my first 5K (thank you my dear friend Chris, I miss you!!).  I have NO pictures of the 5K I ran in the 6 degree weather in December, so this time around ESPECIALLY if when I run the whole thing.  I NEED pictures!  So here's the plan.....

Thursday - Bootcamp - run 1
Friday - OFF (per Tina)

Monday - Run 2.5
