One Word!
To describe boot camp last night with one word.....AWESOME! I love love love boxing! The gloves took a minute to get used to but the punching was fabulous! I got to get some stress out while getting a workout and it was fun to do a lot of partner activities and to have some of my girls really verbally motivate me to hit, knee, and kick harder. I even got to kick Tina!! Like for real! Everyone dreams of kicking the shit out of their trainer and I got to!!! LOL! <3 ya Tina!

Slacking on blogging but not on training!
So I feel like I haven't blogged forever, but it looks like I DID get in my boot camp blog as well as a quote on Friday. Must've been a long weekend for me. ANYWAY, the Race the Rum 5K was on Saturday and I went to bed Friday morning wanting to come down with an illness, because I just did NOT want to do it. I don't know why, I don't know where in the world my motivation was, but I was up at 6:30am stretching, fueling, and getting ready to rock and roll and I did! I ran right next to Tiffany the whole way (big surprise, right?!? lol) Right around 2 miles, maybe a little after I hit my brick wall. I was tired, the backs of my knees felt "kinky" is the only way I can describe it. My back hurt (thanks to a shitty bra!) and I just wanted to be done. The route was awesome though! A nice mixture of up and down hill, beautiful scenery and an equal amount of residential street running, bridges, trails, parks, and flower beds. It was just a nice route all around and I loved it! We rounded our last corner and I could tell Tiffany was picking up her pace and I HAD to keep up. Pretty soon I was going faster, then she was going faster and before I knew it we were both sprinting. My longer legs made me propel forward a little ahead of Tiffany and I set my sights on the lady who's ass I'd had to watch through the whole race. I wanted to hit that mat before she did, I wanted to pass her and I pumped my arms as hard as I could and my legs just followed. I focused on long strides and the energy from the crowd cheering me on intoxicated me and I just pushed harder and faster and I hit that damn chip mat ONE STEP AHEAD of her. I don't know who she was, I don't know what her time was and it doesn't matter. I'd watched her back long enough and when I hit that mat with such little time/space to spare the crowd cheered and clapped even louder. I felt like I'd won something even though I knew that all those people cheering me on had finished ahead of me and with MUCH better times. I was proud and felt accomplished and hugged my girlfriends. It was a great race and my trainer got some pictures with her phone. THANK YOU TINA!!!
This picture I took with my phone right before the race. Pretty sure the angle of the camera on my phone was just right, but this picture makes me look utterly HOT! Love it! LOL
My fellow boot campers. Love you ladies!
Sprint for the finish!!!
Just as we started sprinting and before my longer legs pulled ahead of Tiffany. I felt bad leaving her behind :(

Boot Camp Summer Session Day 2
I don't have much to say about tonight's boot camp except that it was hard! I struggled through the WHOLE hour. Why? I'm not sure. No one else seemed to struggle near as much. My muscles were fatigued really quickly, I was tired, and now I am so so sooooo sore all over. My ankle is the size of a softball so I'm sitting here icing it with some frozen veggies and about ready to fall asleep, because I am just simply BEAT! So short entry tonight. No idea what the plan is for tomorrow, but I HAVE to work out. My day off was yesterday and I have a 5K Saturday morning, "Race the Rum" in Cambridge, MN, so I have GOT to do SOMETHING tomorrow evening. Maybe I'll bust out some Zumba moves in my living room with the kiddos. We'll see. :)

Boot Camp Summer Session Day 1
Last night's boot camp was full of assessments. This session is going to be a lot of fun. There are only 5 of us, but we were super excited to welcome a new soldier to the ranks! One of the assessments I found particularly interesting was the "card catch". I'm guessing it was to measure hand/eye coordination, but basically your partner very rhythmically tossed cards at you and you had to see how many you could catch. I was laughing and yelling at Emily the whole time lol. I HAVE to go bra shopping SOON though!! While doing my burpees last night (which I hate anyway), I almost had a "wardrobe malfunction" if you know what I mean! uuuuggghhhhh NOT good! Well it was good for a laugh and f'd up my count on my burpees. I've been talking about new bras since before last session....it's been long enough! Maybe this weekend I can get down to Title 9 and get some that will work for me. Anyway I just wanted to give a shout out to "M". You did great and just remember that everyone starts somewhere. This is just the beginning of your journey. Realize that you will forever be better than this day :) (((HUGS)))

Slacker!
Boot camp starts tomorrow and thank goodness!! I've been slacking like no other and got in a STUPID argument with a can of chocolate fudge frosting! What was I even thinking?!?! But I totally won that argument and gave the dough boy a good smack down right in to the garbage can without even cracking the seal! YAHOO! I NEED to stay focused! I have way too many goals and way too many 5Ks and way too many people looking to me for inspiration and motivation. I can't let ANY of them down! So we'll AT LEAST go for a brisk walk tonight, maybe a jog with the stroller (I hate jogging with the double stroller!!). Tomorrow and Thursday is boot camp, Saturday is Run the Rum 5K in Cambridge, then bootcamp again the following week and the Fill Their Plate 5K on the 18th followed by a very VERY special graduate's party (wish me luck on the food-front). The following week is boot camp again and GO COMMANDO with the DIVA FORCE on the 25th. Shirts are being ordered tonight and I absolutely can NOT wait!! I'll be doing this obstacle course style 5K with some of my best girlfriends and we have a professional photographer hired to document the event as well. She's amazing and if anyone is looking for some GREAT pictures, check out Never Miss a Moment Photography by Krista Reynolds! We <3 Krista and can't wait to see some of the shots she's going to get!!
