Slacking on blogging but not on training!

So I feel like I haven't blogged forever, but it looks like I DID get in my boot camp blog as well as a quote on Friday.  Must've been a long weekend for me.  ANYWAY, the Race the Rum 5K was on Saturday and I went to bed Friday morning wanting to come down with an illness, because I just did NOT want to do it.  I don't know why, I don't know where in the world my motivation was, but I was up at 6:30am stretching, fueling, and getting ready to rock and roll and I did!  I ran right next to Tiffany the whole way (big surprise, right?!? lol)  Right around 2 miles, maybe a little after I hit my brick wall.  I was tired, the backs of my knees felt "kinky" is the only way I can describe it.  My back hurt (thanks to a shitty bra!) and I just wanted to be done.  The route was awesome though!  A nice mixture of up and down hill, beautiful scenery and an equal amount of residential street running, bridges, trails, parks, and flower beds.  It was just a nice route all around and I loved it!  We rounded our last corner and I could tell Tiffany was picking up her pace and I HAD to keep up.  Pretty soon I was going faster, then she was going faster and before I knew it we were both sprinting.  My longer legs made me propel forward a little ahead of Tiffany and I set my sights on the lady who's ass I'd had to watch through the whole race.  I wanted to hit that mat before she did, I wanted to pass her and I pumped my arms as hard as I could and my legs just followed.  I focused on long strides and the energy from the crowd cheering me on intoxicated me and I just pushed harder and faster and I hit that damn chip mat ONE STEP AHEAD of her.  I don't know who she was, I don't know what her time was and it doesn't matter.  I'd watched her back long enough and when I hit that mat with such little time/space to spare the crowd cheered and clapped even louder.  I felt like I'd won something even though I knew that all those people cheering me on had finished ahead of me and with MUCH better times.  I was proud and felt accomplished and hugged my girlfriends.  It was a great race and my trainer got some pictures with her phone.  THANK YOU TINA!!!

This picture I took with my phone right before the race.  Pretty sure the angle of the camera on my phone was just right, but this picture makes me look utterly HOT!  Love it! LOL

My fellow boot campers.  Love you ladies!

Sprint for the finish!!!

Just as we started sprinting and before my longer legs pulled ahead of Tiffany.  I felt bad leaving her behind :(
